SpaceX's dominance in satellite launches remains a centerpiece of Elon Musk's space ambitions. The latest market report shows SpaceX launched an impressive 88.5% of all satellites in the second quarter, inching towards the predicted 90% share for 2025. When measured by weight, SpaceX accounted for 86% of global payloads to orbit, outpacing competitors like China's Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, which combined with others, do not match SpaceX's volume.
Elon projected that with frequent launches of Starship payloads in 2024, SpaceX could deliver over 95%, possibly reaching 98% by 2027. He lauded the team’s achievements, calling their work "great."
