Eddie and the Cruisers is a 1983 film based on P.F. Kluge's novel, telling the story of a fictional 1960s rock band originating from New Jersey. The band, Eddie and the Cruisers, experiences rapid rise and mysterious fall, centered around the enigmatic frontman Eddie Wilson, played by Michael Parra. The plot revolves around the aftermath of Eddie's presumed death in a car crash and the subsequent investigation by a journalist, played by Ellen Barkin, who seeks the truth behind his disappearance and the lost tapes of their second album, A Season in Hell.
