Crime, like many other aspects of Arkansas life, comes with its own bizarre twists. The narrator recounts a memorable incident involving a motorcycle theft. A man, released from jail, approaches a pawn shop, where he had previously left the keys in a motorcycle that was parked outside. The thief, recognizing the surveillance camera footage, promptly pushes the bike out onto the street, starts it up, and rides away—much to the owner's dismay. The police quickly recognize him, noting his familiarity from previous encounters, but the bike was eventually recovered, landing miles away with considerable damage. Such stories highlight the amusing ineptitude of some local criminals.
