Privacy and Safety Measures
Safety and privacy are central concerns in this initial phase. The vehicles will be equipped with cabin cameras and microphones, but these features are disabled unless support or emergency aid is needed. Indicators will visibly show when such systems are active—green for camera, orange for microphone—adding transparency to the process.
Sound detection systems within the vehicle can respond to environmental cues like sirens, lowering media volume and alerting riders when necessary. Importantly, all safety event data is processed locally on the vehicle and is not transmitted to Tesla unless the user explicitly opts in, thereby emphasizing privacy.
