Central to their current life project is the construction of a new workshop on their homestead. Having previously built an addition to their cabin during an unseasonably hot summer, they faced considerable hardship but ultimately succeeded. Recognizing the lack of suitable space for woodworking and other craft endeavors—spaces that are weatherproof and close to essential tools—they plan to build a 20x30 or even 40-foot structure, rather than purchasing a prefabricated building costing upwards of $24,000.
