As a young teenager, the author began working in restaurants—initially as a busboy and dishwasher at “Goldies” in Tulsa—gaining firsthand experience of the restaurant industry. This was his introduction to the concept of earning wages, handling money, and performing manual tasks.
He advanced through various roles in food service, including working at Captain D’s, Burger King, and an Italian restaurant. These jobs taught him skills like cooking, food preparation, dishwashing, and customer service—skills that would prove invaluable later in life.
