Tesla’s robotics ambitions are progressing swiftly. The company remains on track to deploy a robo-taxi fleet in Austin, starting with 10 to 20 vehicles. Regarding production capacity, Musk clarified that Tesla currently can produce around 12 Optimus robots at a time, with a target of 1,000 units per month. However, he emphasized that this figure is not yet achieved and will take months to reach, with subsequent generation lines aiming for 10,000 per month (second gen) and eventually 100,000 per month (third gen)—an annual goal of 1.2 million units.
