Part 2/11:
This autumn has seen OpenAI deepen its collaborations within the semiconductor supply chain. Most recently, the company announced an agreement to purchase (a staggering) 10 gigawatts worth of computer chips from Broadcom, a US-based semiconductor giant. This deal follows earlier investments and partnerships with other critical chip manufacturers such as AMD and Nvidia, established earlier in October and in the month prior.
These moves highlight OpenAI's aggressive approach to securing the necessary hardware infrastructure to power its AI models. As the demand for advanced AI requires massive computational power, such strategic investments are seen as essential for maintaining and scaling cutting-edge AI services.
