Once modifications were complete, the door halves were reattached using the existing and new hinges. The homeowner emphasized the importance of checking that the hinges worked properly before fully mounting the door back into the frame.
The lower half was hung first, using longer screws (about 2 inches) to secure it firmly to the frame, ensuring it would support frequent use. The top half was then attached, aligning perfectly with the support hinges. A slide bolt was installed on the inside of the door to lock both halves together, allowing the homeowner to open or close both doors simultaneously.
