The homeowner examines drainage channels along the porch, noting that while minimal water gets in during heavy rain, there's room for improvement. The current flashing setup directs water off the porch but still leaves some in channels that may cause warping over time. To alleviate this, plans are underway to:

  • Expand the Flashing Channel: Making it larger to better direct water into existing gutters.

  • Create a Concrete Drainage Trench: Digging a reworked trench that will carry water downhill away from the foundation more effectively.

  • Potential Additional Measures: Possibly planting shrubs in front of sandbags for additional reinforcement or future installation of a retaining wall.
