As the storm hit, real-time observations were key. The builder quickly checked whether his temporary setups were working by pouring water and monitoring flow patterns. He was pleased to see that the rain was being effectively diverted, with water flowing into the French drain and down the constructed channels.

He also observed the effects of the rain on the site: trees were bending heavily, a big crash was heard from somewhere off-camera, and the water began to splash onto the exposed surfaces. Despite these challenges, he noted that his efforts to position gutters and reinforce barriers were holding up well, keeping water from penetrating where it shouldn't.
