Digging out the area involves some rough excavation, with progress hampered by uneven depths—one spot was dug a little too deep, complicating the leveling. To ensure a smooth finish, a makeshift form is devised: a 2x4 is placed across the edge, left embedded in the wall for reference, aiding in maintaining proper elevation aligned with the sidewalk level.
