Installing the Outlets and Running Wires
Once the wiring path is established, the wiring is fed through drilled holes, carefully maneuvered through the insulation and structural elements. The builder explains the reasoning behind installing outlets before insulation — primarily due to the timeline. The project was rushed in spring to get the dogs into the space before the heat of summer, leading to insulation being temporarily removed and later reinstalled.
Connections for the washer and dryer outlets are planned, with an emphasis on simplicity and future expansion. The builder also notes the importance of proper wiring gauge, opting for 12-2 gauge wire on a 30-amp breaker to support high-power appliances like the air conditioner and heater.
