The last few boards prove particularly stubborn. Due to warping, the builder has to cut them in half and join them with a rail between—an unconventional solution to a common problem with warped lumber. Despite the complications, they mention that nobody will be walking directly on these joints, so aesthetics are less critical here.

The final boards are challenging to fit, as shifting posts over the summer caused misalignments. To make things worse, the circular saw's failure meant some cuts were done with a jigsaw, adding to the day's frustrations. Nonetheless, the deck is finally completed, with all boards down and some temporary safety rails installed for protection.
