Sanders advocates for reduced American influence abroad—preferring diplomatic engagement over military intervention—while Trump’s tenure was characterized by aggressive foreign policy tactics, trade wars, and a stance of American economic and military strength. These policies starkly oppose Sanders’ vision of a restrained and multilateral American role.
Tax policy also exemplifies the ideological chasm. Sanders consistently advocates for raising taxes on the wealthy and corporations, whereas Trump's tax cuts favored the wealthy and corporate interests, bolstering economic disparities.
