Part 4/14:
Tesla has undergone transformative growth since its early days. Musk pointed out that during the launch of Model 3 at Fremont, production volumes rose from 2,000 to 7,000 cars per week, but behind this growth lay a corresponding challenge: back-office operations and process management also faced severe bottlenecks.
To address this, Tesla developed the Tesla Operating System, a fully vertically integrated, in-house software platform managing nearly all departments. This shift from reliance on third-party software to proprietary systems has yielded staggering efficiency gains—such as quadrupling the efficiency of North American sales teams and significantly reducing costs across administrative functions.
