As part of this initiative, undercover officers disguised as young women have been deployed on the streets. Their role is to monitor and respond to instances of harassment, such as stares, windows hanging out to look at them, Horn honking, or shouting. When officers are beeped at, followed, or verbally harassed, they are authorized to intervene immediately.
Many female runners expressed support for this new policing strategy, stating that they are tired of harassment and want to be able to enjoy their jogs without fear. Several women appreciated the police presence, viewing it as a step toward greater safety and respect in public spaces.
