Part 2/9:
Deborah Siligson, a Chinese business and economics expert, emphasizes China's serious commitment to renewable energy. Currently, renewables account for the lion's share of new electricity capacity added to the grid. Interestingly, the addition of new coal-fired power plants is unlikely to see full utilization, partly because local governments prefer to maintain control over these plants due to recent shortages caused by national companies. Instead, the focus is shifting toward expanding capacity through renewable sources, including wind, solar, and nuclear energy, which China is aggressively developing and exporting.
