Davis provided a stern critique of Premier Daniel Andrews' pandemic response, recalling some of the harsh restrictions implemented during the COVID-19 lockdowns, such as bans on outdoor activities like fishing and golf, mask mandates, and closed playgrounds.
He pointed out that much of the restrictive measures claimed to be based on health advice were actually misleading or outright falsehoods, which exacerbated public frustration. For example, restrictions on mask-wearing and outdoor leisure were, according to Davis, based on manipulated or misunderstood health guidance, leading to questions about transparency and honesty from Andrews’ government.
