Simultaneously, Israel has begun pulling back from Gaza, seating roughly half the strip’s territory behind a boundary line. While the Israeli military aims to weaken Hamas's infrastructure, the underlying goal—disarmament—is unlikely to be achieved, given ongoing reports that Hamas’s leadership and military capabilities remain intact or are adapting strategically.
