By sunrise, Israeli forces had intercepted at least 39 vessels and detained more than 400 activists, who were subsequently transported to the port of Ashdod for processing and deportation. Videos released by Israel showed activists, including Greta Thunberg, sitting calmly as soldiers handed them water and jackets—an image that garnered widespread attention.
Two vessels, the Marinette and the Mckenno, remain unaccounted for, with one reportedly still at sea and the other possibly entering Gaza waters before contact was lost.
