Part 2/11:
The Typhon system is a mobile, ship-launched missile launcher capable of firing two key missile types: the SM6 and the Tomahawk cruise missile. These missiles provide a versatile arsenal capable of engaging targets across air, sea, and land domains.
SM6 Missile: Designed for anti-air and anti-ship missions, this missile boasts speeds in the low hundreds of miles per hour, coupled with precise guidance and sensor linkages, making it effective for layered defense and maritime denial.
Tomahawk Cruise Missile: The longer-range of the two, the latest variants can reach approximately 900 to 1,000 miles. From southwestern Japan, these missiles could target Shanghai or even Beijing, a geographic shift that significantly expands the threat radius to Chinese territory.
