Worerim responded to the large protest held in Sydney, acknowledging the genuine compassion that likely motivated many of the demonstrators. "I would never criticize anybody for showing concern for people suffering in conflicts abroad," he stated. However, he noted that the protest was marred by displays that were inconsistent with that compassion. He observed signs and placards bearing Hamas flags, jihadi symbols, and messages that aligned more with political or propagandistic motives rather than humanitarian concern.
