Part 3/6:
Led by Dr. Adrien Le Prey, the recent study focused on whether supplementation with specific nutrients could mitigate the damaging effects of screens on the eyes. The nutrients in question are lutein and zeaxanthin, two carotenoids naturally found in fruits and vegetables. These compounds are known for their antioxidant properties and high concentrations in the retina, where they help protect against oxidative damage.
The study examined the effects of a standardized supplement called Ludigen, which contains a combination of lutein and zeaxanthin. Researchers targeted regular screen users—defined as those who spend six or more hours a day on electronic devices—and monitored various measures of eye health over a six-month period.
