Historically, the 1990s appeared promising for peace, especially during Bill Clinton’s presidency, when negotiations were actively progressing toward establishing an independent Palestinian state alongside Israel. However, recent events have severely hampered this progress. The recent conflict has created a profound impasse, making it essential for international actors to think creatively and with goodwill to reset the peace process.
A long-term resolution would require renewed dialogue, addressing the grievances of both sides, and establishing trust for a peaceful, independent Palestine to materialize someday.
