In Victoria, farmers and regional communities have organized a significant protest against new legislation that threatens their land rights and livelihoods. The proposed laws would impose fines exceeding $12,000 on landowners who refuse access to transmission line workers—a move intended to facilitate the rollout of a vast 240-kilometer network of high-voltage transmission lines across approximately 250 private properties.
