It was argued that the Victorian government should take a step back and "repeal" these regulations, listening more attentively to the farmers' concerns. Farmers are often mischaracterized; they are not climate deniers nor opponents of environmental stewardship. In fact, they are among the most diligent custodians of the environment, yet they are protesting against policies that threaten their livelihoods and food security.
