The post-regime landscape in Iran is unpredictable. Possibilities range from a transition to democracy or monarchy to a prolonged power struggle where the IRGC fractures authority across various zones. What’s clear is that Iran’s internal dynamics have shifted dramatically since 1979 — the revolution’s foundational moments and the socio-political landscape are very different today. The upcoming political vacuum, should regime change occur, could lead to considerable instability, civil conflict, or regional chaos, with consequences the global community might find difficult to manage.
