On the international front, Iran's nuclear pursuits remain a pressing concern. This week, Iran outright rejected a U.S. proposal designed to limit its uranium enrichment capacity, deeming the offer "not acceptable" and promising to prepare a counterproposal. The offer would have allowed Iran to continue enriching uranium at civilian levels but under strict U.S. supervision with new facilities, including dismantling some existing centrifuges and shipping out a portion of its stockpile.
