Part 3/11:
Despite Google’s opposition, the government has now proceeded with including YouTube in the ban. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese articulated the government’s stance in a public statement, emphasizing their commitment to protecting families and addressing the negative effects of social media on children. Albanese stated, "Our government is making it clear we stand on the side of families. Social media has a social responsibility, and there is no doubt that Australian kids are being negatively impacted by online platforms."
The Prime Minister further remarked that social media is doing social harm to children and reassured parents that the government is prioritizing their children’s well-being.
