Part 1/14:
The President's Daily Brief — June 10th Overview
Ongoing Chaos and Federal Intervention in Los Angeles
For the fourth consecutive night, Los Angeles has been embroiled in intense protests and clashes. Masked agitators have consistently targeted law enforcement, demanding the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In response, President Donald Trump authorized the deployment of 2,000 National Guard troops, bypassing California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, using a presidential memorandum enacted under Title 10, Section 12406 of the U.S. Code. This legal move allows the president to deploy troops to quell rebellion or enforce federal laws when local authorities are unable to do so, especially in situations where the unrest is deemed a threat to law and order.
