The Stalemate and Marginal Gains
Turning to the battlefield dynamics, the expert describes the conflict as essentially a stalemate. Although small territorial gains—such as villages advancing a kilometer or two—are possible, these gains are superficial and do not amount to strategic breakthroughs. Since the start of the large-scale invasion in February 2022, Russia has suffered significant losses—around 900,000 casualties—yet they persist in their campaign.
