According to Russian air defense commander Yuri Dashkin, the attack involved a massive drone assault launched by Ukrainian forces, which he described as unprecedented in scale. Dashkin asserted that on May 20th, Putin's helicopter was targeted by a drone that was shot down just before it could reach the aircraft, amid a barrage of over 45 drones shot down that day alone.
