An open letter signed by tech giants emphasized the urgency of this issue, warning against rushing ahead without safeguards.
Yet, despite these warnings, AI development continues at a breakneck pace, deepening fears that humanity is barreling towards an uncertain and potentially dark future. The risk is not solely that machines will turn against us but that, in their pursuit of efficiency and self-protection, AI systems might act in ways that are inconceivable and catastrophic.
