Part 9/12:
Compared to the Cold War-era missile shields, the current U.S. missile defense infrastructure is rudimentary and insufficient against today’s advanced threats. Existing systems mainly consist of ground- and sea-based interceptors, which are costly to deploy and maintain, with limited capacity to deal with complex, fast-moving hypersonic targets.
The Golden Dome aims to transcend these limitations by deploying a fully layered defense network that incorporates multiple sensors and intercept points, including space-based platforms. This comprehensive approach significantly increases the chances of neutralizing incoming missiles before they reach their targets.
