Part 8/9:
Progress and outlook
While Sea City is still under construction, it has already seen tangible progress. By 2023, approximately 186 km of coastline has been created—approaching the project’s goal of over 200 km. The initial phases are already inhabited or used for secondary residences, and several artificial habitats are thriving with marine life.
However, the future remains uncertain. Will the project sustain its ecological and economic promise as its population grows? Will it attract enough tourism and residents to become a vibrant community? Only time will tell, but the early signs suggest a remarkable transformation from desert salt flats into a lush, waterside metropolis.
