Just a day later, on Saturday, another Islamist attack erupted at a local market in Mous, in eastern France on the border with Germany and Switzerland. The perpetrator, a 37-year-old Algerian man, went on a stabbing spree shouting "Allahu Akbar," the Arabic phrase for "God is great." During his rampage, he murdered a 69-year-old Portuguese man who tried to intervene and seriously injured two police officers, both of whom are in critical condition.
