Frank Maxwell followed in his father's footsteps, receiving a solid education locally and starting work at the family’s textile mill at just 17. Demonstrating talent and dedication, he rapidly ascended from a junior role to becoming the company’s secretary and eventually the financial manager after his father’s passing in 1891. Over nearly six decades, Frank guided Maxwell’s textile operations through expansion and success, culminating in the 1906 merger that created the Hoconam Wool Manufacturing Company—making Rockville a key player in the New England wool industry.
