Changes Through the Decades
By 1934, amid the economic turmoil of the Great Depression, Frank Maxwell retired from his textile leadership role, selling his stake to a larger group, and passed away in 1942. Following his death, the estate remained in the family for a few years but gradually transferred ownership in 1945 to the local Moose Lodge.
