Part 2/14:
Born in 1864 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, John Aldred started his working life at a young age in a textile factory. However, his aspirations extended far beyond the confines of factory walls. Demonstrating talent and perseverance, Aldred climbed the corporate ladder in the burgeoning industrial scene of the early 20th century. By the 1910s and 1920s, he had established himself as a prominent figure in the utility sector, serving as president of the Baltimore Gas, Electric, and Power Company and holding directorships in various other utility firms. His influence extended across state and national borders, particularly through his pioneering hydroelectric projects in Canada and investments in European utilities, notably in Northern Italy.
