Part 2/12:
Born in 1850 in rural Michigan, Francis Edson Drury demonstrated an inventive spirit from a young age. By his teenage years, he had already devised a unique reel-cutting mower—introducing one of the earliest gear-driven lawnmowers—bringing his invention to Cleveland's manufacturing scene in 1870. His company, Taylor & Boggis Foundry, quickly flourished, with Drury ascending to vice president and general manager.
