Drury’s interest in the arts extended beyond his residence. In 1915, he acquired a nearby property and transformed it into the Cleveland Theatre, using his mansion’s grounds for performances. By 1925, he donated land across the street for a permanent theater complex, with one stage named the Francis E. Drury Theatre in his honor.
