In 1904, he earned a gold medal at the St. Louis World’s Fair for his ceramic work, solidifying his reputation as an innovative artist and craftsman. One of his most celebrated projects was the installation of nearly 400 mosaic tiles in the Pennsylvania State Capitol, depicting historical events and local industries.
