Plant’s Second Manhattan home, completed in 1918 by architect Lowell, was a five-story limestone “palace” along 86th Street, roughly 120 feet long. Its design incorporated Italian Renaissance influences with a more restrained aesthetic than his earlier Fifth Avenue mansion, using pink Tennessee marble with a robust stone base. The entrance was marked by a circular portico and an elegant secondary balcony.
