Preservation and Public Legacy
In 1981, Douglas’s daughter Margaret Douglas Hall donated the estate to the National Trust for Historic Preservation to ensure its legacy endured. Today, the Bruce Mór estate functions as a historic house museum and cultural hub, offering visitors a glimpse into the grandeur of America’s industrial Gilded Age and the life of one of Cedar Rapids’ most influential families.
