In 1905, the Kimberlys acquired a picturesque hilltop property, famously known as the "Little Castle," built in 1897 by Conelius A. Hill. They purchased not just the house but also surrounding orchards and gardens, naming their estate "Kimberly Hilltop." The initial architect duo, Oliver Perry Dennis and Lyman Fawell, crafted a European-inspired mansion featuring cream-colored walls, conical towers, and arched windows—an elegant fairy-tale castle transplanted to California.
