In the 1960s, Patricia and Robert—now proud owners—moved into Haut Bois, affectionately nicknamed "Malmison" after Napoleon’s palace. Patricia’s love for music was evident as she often opened the windows and sang from the balconies, filling the lush gardens with her powerful voice, creating a living opera under the open sky.
Later Years and Natural Decay
Despite her success, Patricia’s career gradually slowed in her later years. She retired from the Met in 1981 but kept performing in select concerts into her 60s and 70s. Her influence persisted through television appearances and occasional stage performances, demonstrating her versatility.
