Part 2/14:

Kicking off our list is the Royal Palace in Caserta, Italy. Built in 1752 for the Bourbon monarchs of Naples, it was inspired by the Palace of Versailles but on an even grander scale. Designed by architect Luigi Vanvitelli, the palace spans approximately 1.49 million square feet and boasts over 1200 rooms. Its decor ranges from royal apartments to chapels, theaters, and public halls, all interconnected via massive staircases. Outside, sprawling landscaped gardens with fountains and waterfalls extend the grandeur into the countryside. Today, Caserta is a UNESCO World Heritage site, open to visitors and frequently used as a filming location. Its blend of Baroque drama and royal living makes it a perfect entry point into the world of the largest homes.
