Fred Thompson was born in 1890 in Pasadena, California. Not just handsome and charismatic, Thompson was also highly intelligent and physically talented. Initially, he made his mark as a varsity athlete with record-breaking achievements in track and field after studying at Princeton University. His early life took an unexpected turn when he served as a chaplain in the U.S. Army during World War I.
