Part 3/10:
The rebel offensive,, which began in late last week with a surprise attack in northern Syria, has achieved rapid territorial gains. Key cities such as Aleppo and Kama have fallen into rebel hands, advancing southward toward Damascus—Syria’s capital. Al-Gulani’s forces now threaten to reach the last major government-held city in southwestern Syria, Homs, which is pivotal for the Assad regime’s survival.
Al-Gulani explicitly stated, “The goal of the Revolution remains the overthrow of this regime,” emphasizing their willingness to employ all means necessary. He also suggested that the seeds of the regime’s downfall have always been within it, asserting that both Iranian and Russian efforts to revive the regime are futile—claiming it is a “dead end.”
